1. Hydration

The weather conditions and pollution can strip the skin of its natural moisture, leaving it dry and dull. In such a situation, face masks provide the skin with the right amount of moisture which regular serums and creams fail to do. Certain ingredients present in the mask boost the hydration of the skin and restore its moisture.

DIY moisturising face mask

Blend half a cucumber and one tablespoon of yogurt into a paste. Once you reach the desired consistency, add the oats and one tablespoon at a time until you get a mixture which is thick enough to stick on the face. Apply the mask for 10-20 minutes and wash off with warm water. Rinse in a circular motion to gently buff away the dead skin cells too.

DIY brightening face mask

Combine three tablespoons rolled oats (powdered form), one tablespoon of honey, one teaspoon turmeric and one teaspoon of fresh lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Apply on a clean face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off gently with warm water.

DIY face mask for firmer skin

Combine two or three tablespoons of Greek yogurt, one tablespoon of cocoa powder, one teaspoon of buttermilk (or regular milk), half of a banana mashed and one teaspoon of honey in a blender. Blend until the mask acquires a thick consistency so that it won’t be drooly on your face. Apply this mask for 20-30 minutes and wash it off with cold water.
