1. Don’t use the same pad for long

Whether you use a sanitary pad or resort to a tampon, you should avoid wearing it for long. Doing so could increase your chances of getting an infection or lead to skin rashes.

2. Avoid a sedentary lifestyle

Getting your period may make things slightly uncomfortable. However, this should not stop you from leading an active lifestyle. Continue your regular exercises and be physically active.

3. Do not skip meals

During menstruation, your body will feel weary, which is why you need more energy than ever. Therefore, do not skip your meals and invest in nutritious foods.

4. Don’t give into unhealthy foods

5. Say no to vaginal washes

Avoid douching your intimate parts with chemical-ridden vaginal washes. This can lead to irritation, rather than cleaning the area.

6. Do not get a wax

During periods, your estrogen levels spike, leading to increased sensitivity, which is why it is important to avoid any form of pain including waxing or shaving.

7. Do not eat excess dairy products

Stay away from dairy products. Although you need calcium in your body, dairy items like milk, cheese and yogurt can worsen your abdominal cramp and lead to bloating.
