1. Check for shopping coupons through the app

These days all the grocery chains have online apps and websites that provide you with different offers, coupons, and discounts on a daily basis. So, check for the same before you go out shopping.

2. Always make the grocery list and stick to it

This act not only makes you cover everything necessary but also puts a break on your extra expenses at the store.

3. Avoid pre-packed meat and prefer fresh ones

In general pre-packed meats are more in quantity and are way more expensive than fresh meat. It is better to buy the later as there is less wastage of money and food in it.

4. Use card instead of cash

These days most debit/credit cards companies are linked with the grocery chains and hence shopping through cards can help you win points that can be monetized later. And sometimes there is a cash back option too.

5. Read the price and quantity and compare

At times the product looks cheaper, but is less in quantity. For example instead of a one kg pack of a health drink, you may find it to be only 980gms if you look closely at the packet.

6. Don’t shop for all your groceries at one place

This could be a little tiring and time-consuming, but it is good to explore a bit than just filling your bag at one place. Due to tough market competition, the grocery stores offer an extra discount on MRP to attract customers. So, check that before shopping.

7. Never go shopping when hungry

This is funny but very logical. When you are hungry and shop, you end up buying a lot of food which may not make sense later when you are satiated.

8. Look at the top and bottom shelves

It’s a market strategy to keep the cheaper stuff below the eye level. So, next time when you visit a grocery store, try to explore the top and bottom shelves than just sticking to the centre one.

9. Shop in bulk

If the product is of daily use, then it is good to buy it in bulk. This not only reduces the task of buying it every month but also costs cheaper as compared to small packs.
