Gayton says his department treats people equally

Gayton McKenzie addresses celebrities who use social media to bully government officials.

The Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture didn’t mention names, but online users flooded the comment with mentions of celebrities who might have triggered the minister.

Many celebrities use social media to bully government officials, they want us to jump when they speak,” he started the tweet.

Gayton further stated that he won’t embrace being bullied.

“I’m different, your time of exclusive access is over, you might be famous but you are not more important than other artist. We treat ppl equally at @SportArtsCultur,” he added.

One of the many comments came from Nota Baloyi who just got off parole after being sentenced to 60 days in jail late 2023.

The controversial music executive told the minister he’s in need of job.

“I just got off parole & I ready to volunteer wherever you’ll need my skills or unrivalled experience. I care less what my country can do for me & dedicate myself to doing what I can to empower my fellow countrymen… Let’s prioritise those that want to put a shoulder to the wheel!”
