‘The situation with Mosa is simple really, he wants to stay, and the club also wants him to remain because of his loyalty and service,’ an insider said.

Mosa Lebusa’s future at Mamelodi Sundowns remains uncertain, with his current contract expiring at the end of the season.

The club had expressed interest in extending his contract for another two years. But the arrivals of Keanu Cupido and Lucas Suárez have raised doubts about his future.

Sundowns’ Lebusa wants to stay?

As things stand, the 32-year-old is free to sign a pre-contract with any club. It is reported, however, that he wants to stay at Sundowns. Sources at the club have indicated that he is still highly regarded by both the technical team and management. But negotiations have stalled.

“The situation with Mosa is simple really, he wants to stay. The club also wants him to remain because of his loyalty and service,” an insider told Phakaaathi.

Contract offer

“I’m not sure why the negotiations have stalled since an agreement seemed close. He wants to participate in the Club World Cup with Sundowns. And I’ve been told the club offered him a two-year extension.”

Lebusa, who can play both centre back and left back, joined Sundowns in 2018 from Ajax Cape Town. This season, he has made 11 appearances in the Betway Premiership and five in the CAF Champions League, totaling 22 games for Sundowns across all competitions.
