LaConco makes her acting debut
Nonkanyiso “LaConco” Conco is stepping into a new chapter of her career, swapping reality TV for scripted drama.
The former Real Housewives of Durban star has officially made her acting debut on Mzansi Magic’s Genesis, marking her first role in a fictional series.
Sharing the news with her followers on Tuesday, 12 August 2025, LaConco posted a short clip from her appearance, where she takes on the role of The Podcaster.
In the scene, she interviews a character named Gabriel, played by Buyile Mdladla, on a fictional segment called Off The Record.
“Making my acting debut tonight on Genesis as ‘The Podcaster’. We Mnge! Hawu, thank you for featuring me, Genesis family,” she wrote.
Fans and fellow celebrities flooded her comments with praise.
Veteran actress Leleti Khumalo gushed, “I love this so much. Congratulations LaC,” while Dawn Thandeka King wrote, “Congratulations Mnge. I pray you grow and God blesses you, over and over.”
Actor Lindah Majola applauded the crossover between platforms, saying, “This cross-pollination of mainstream media and social media is so important and mutually beneficial. I wish Genesis could grow and so would your podcast, my friend.”
Other well-wishers included Ayah Mthembu_, who said, “Congratulations onwards and upwards, Darli, can’t wait to see you,” and Lesego Khoza, who added, “Congratulations, my Sweeriem, such a beautiful surprise.”
