Shane Eagle reflected on the creation of his new project during a recent appearance on 5 Hip Hop Nights with DJ Speedsta, offering insight into the songs and verses that stand out most to him. Speaking about his latest album Never Meet Your Heroes, the rapper identified Ride Out as the track that holds his strongest lyrical moment.

He stated clearly, “Of the new tape, it has to be ‘Ride Out’, track 2.” The comment set the tone for a conversation focused on intention, self evaluation and the standards he places on his craft.

Eagle went further into the process behind Ride Out and explained why the track holds such importance. He described the mindset he was in when he recorded it and reflected on the level of honesty he demanded from himself at that moment. He explained, “You know when I made ‘Ride Out’ I had to be real with myself, I said when I rap on this beat I wanna be the best in the world at what I do.” The statement revealed the internal expectations that shaped the song and highlighted the seriousness with which he approached the production.

Throughout the interview Eagle addressed his intentions for the album as a whole. He made it clear that every track was approached with purpose and that Ride Out set a standard that influenced the rest of the recording process. Continuing his explanation, he said, “I am not here to just hop on another beat, I wanna be the best at what I do when I hop on this beat, so ‘Ride Out’ on the new album for sure.” His words reflected a commitment to artistic growth and a desire to ensure that each performance carried weight and personal significance.

Eagle’s remarks help explain why the song has a strong presence on the album and why it holds such personal value for him. With the release of Never Meet Your Heroes, Eagle reinforces his reputation for introspective storytelling and intentional delivery, with Ride Out serving as a defining example of both.
