Marcia “Cia” Morata has officially become the first housemate to leave Big Brother Mzansi season 6: Bazozwa, barely days after the reality show premiered on 11 January 2026.

The MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company and organisers of the show, confirmed Cia’s departure following concerns about her emotional and physical wellbeing.

Her exit came after she informed Big Brother that she was not feeling well, prompting swift intervention from the show’s support team.

The 30-year-old Mamelodi-based housemate had been visibly struggling in the house, with her distress becoming clear earlier in the day when she broke down in tears.

During an emotional moment, fellow housemate Ofentse tried to get her to open up about what was wrong, but her reluctance to speak led to an uncomfortable exchange, with Ofentse eventually telling her to talk when she felt ready.

As the day progressed, Cia admitted that she was grappling with a growing sense of discomfort in the house. She confessed that she felt more like a guest than a participant and as though she was constantly being tested.

While she recognised these emotions, she found it difficult to fully express herself, making her vulnerability one of the most noticeable since the season began.

Although fellow housemate Buhle B had offered her comfort and encouragement the day before, the reassurance appeared temporary as Cia’s emotional struggles resurfaced shortly afterwards.

In a statement confirming her exit, the organisers explained the circumstances surrounding the decision:

“Marcia ‘Cia’ Morata has left the Big Brother Mzansi: Bazozwa house. She is the first housemate to depart the show since its launch on 11 January 2026.

On Thursday, Cia became emotional and started crying. Earlier this morning, following a scheduled yoga session, Cia indicated that she was not feeling well and approached Big Brother for assistance.

She received immediate support and later met with the on-site psychologist for further assessment.

Following this evaluation, and in the best interest of her wellbeing, the decision was made that she should leave the Big Brother Mzansi house. Cia will continue to receive the support she needs after leaving the competition.”
