Social media personality Athini Bashe has candidly shared that he sought therapy following his highly publicised breakup with long-term partner Ntandokazi Mzamo, and admitted that one difficult conversation led him to briefly walk away from his sessions.

Bash, who has been trending since news of his split surfaced, posted a video on TikTok on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, where he opened up about working with a therapist.

While he did not specify exactly when he began therapy, he revealed that a moment of uncomfortable honesty from his therapist prompted him to take a two-week break.

In the clip, Bash explained that accountability became a sticking point for him during one of their sessions.

“iTherapist yami said, ‘Bash, you need to take responsibility for your actions. You can’t be pointing fingers at people.’ I said, ‘I ain’t doing that.’ That’s why I decided to take a two-week break. I guess I have to go back again,” he said.

The influencer admitted that he initially resisted the advice, acknowledging that he does not enjoy being held accountable.

However, he now appears more open to confronting what was said and hinted that returning to therapy may be necessary.

The video sparked a wave of reactions online. Some social media users applauded Bash for seeking professional help and speaking openly about it, while others criticised him, questioning the timing and sincerity of his reflection.
