South African rapper Maraza has shared new details about his forthcoming studio album, offering listeners insight into the direction and collaborations shaping the project. Speaking during a recent appearance on 5 Hip Hop Nights with DJ Speedsta, the artist confirmed several featured acts and reflected on the creative approach behind the body of work.

During the interview, Maraza revealed that longtime collaborator Zakwe will be part of the album. “I had to get Zakwe on this one, that’s just one of… and then I really love putting together mixes of artists people don’t expect, youngins with OGs,” he said, explaining the thinking behind some of his selections. He added that he is currently working with Priddy Ugly, confirming another feature in progress.

Maraza went on to list several other artists who have contributed to the project. Among them is Sky Wonder, a collaboration he described as exciting. He also named Aubrey Qwana, Emtee, Bravo Le Roux, Jay Jody, Lowfeye, and Big Zulu as part of the lineup. The range of names reflects a blend of established figures and newer voices within the local hip hop landscape.

“I’ve got Sky Wonder on the album and I’m really excited about that, I’ve got Aubry Qwana, I do have Emtee on the album, I’ve got Bravo Le Roux, I’ve got Jay Jody on the album, I’ve got Lowfeye, Big Zulu is there,” Maraza said during the conversation. His comments highlighted the scope of collaboration involved in the album’s production process.

In addition to unveiling the features, Maraza disclosed that the album is expected to be released around May. He also revealed the title of the project, Uminathi Nandi Onothando, which he said is named after his late daughter. The announcement adds a deeply personal layer to the forthcoming release.

The rapper further confirmed that the project will be a double-disc album, signaling an expansive collection of material. While he did not share an exact release date, the anticipated May drop positions the album as one of his significant releases this year.

With recording sessions underway and multiple collaborations confirmed, Maraza’s upcoming album is shaping up to be a comprehensive offering that brings together different generations and styles within South African hip hop.
