Naledi’s booking contact hacked

South African music star Naledi Aphiwe has issued an urgent warning to promoters and fans after her official bookings contact was compromised in a scam that has already affected at least one event arrangement.

In a statement released by her team, it was revealed that Naledi’s bookings cellphone number has been hacked, with an unauthorized individual now posing as her management.

The impersonator has reportedly misled a promoter into making arrangements for a fake booking, raising alarm across her growing network.

The team made it clear that any communication linked to the compromised number and associated bank details should be treated as fraudulent.

“Any communication, booking confirmations, or payment requests made through the compromised number 072 693 9541 and Capitec Account Number 2066879823 are fraudulent,” the statement read.

They also identified the alleged individual behind the scam, urging the public to assist in tracking him down.

“The culprit behind this scam is an individual by the name Xolani Keitumetse Chiloane with the phone number: 0764952590.”

In a bid to fast-track justice, Naledi’s team has put forward an incentive for anyone who can help.

“A R10 000 cash reward is available for anyone with information that will help us apprehend this person,” the statement added, directing tip-offs to the investigating officer via the provided contact.

To prevent further incidents, the singer’s management stressed that all legitimate bookings should only be processed through their verified email channel and encouraged promoters to double-check all communications before making any payments.

“We urge all promoters and stakeholders to be cautious and verify all booking communications directly with the management team before making any commitments or payments. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.”
