The project is being rolled out under Kgaday Music Label, a platform known for its contribution to the evolving amapiano landscape and its work with emerging and established acts within the genre.

The upcoming EP follows recent activity from both artists, who have continued to build their presence through collaborations within the amapiano scene. Thatohatsi, credited as a vocalist, songwriter and featured artist, has worked with a range of notable producers and performers. Her catalogue includes collaborations with artists such as Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa and Kelvin Momo, reflecting her role in vocal-driven amapiano releases.

Tracy has similarly established herself through consistent collaborations, frequently appearing alongside Thatohatsi on various tracks. Their joint work includes contributions to songs like “Emhlabeni” and “Bo Gogo,” where both artists are credited alongside leading producers. These collaborations highlight an ongoing creative partnership that has now culminated in a full-length joint EP.

In addition to standalone collaborations, the duo has also been part of broader collective releases tied to Kgaday and affiliated producers. Tracks such as “iHero,” which features contributions from multiple amapiano artists, further demonstrate their integration within a network of collaborators shaping the genre’s current sound.

The release of Uhambo positions Thatohatsi and Tracy within a continued trend of joint projects in amapiano, where vocalists and producers frequently merge their styles into cohesive bodies of work. With lead singles set to arrive ahead of the full EP, the rollout signals a phased introduction to the project, leading up to its official release on 24 April.
