South African rapper Mochen has officially lifted the curtain on his upcoming album North Vol 1: The Prophecy, giving supporters a first look at a project that already feels deeply personal and intentional. The rapper took to Instagram to unveil the full tracklist for the anticipated body of work, introducing a lineup packed with notable names from across the country’s hip hop landscape.
The reveal immediately sparked conversation among fans, not only because of the collaborations attached to the project, but because of the meaning behind the title itself. Mochen explained that N.O.R.T.H stands for “No Oaths. Rewritten. TIES. Held,” a phrase that reflects loyalty, identity and rebuilding through music. The title positions the album as more than just a collection of songs but as a statement tied closely to his journey and the people around him.
“A well crafted masterpiece… NORTH Vol’1 Official tracklist❤️ N.O.R.T.H – No.Oaths.Rewritten.TIES.Held 🩸 Meet the Gang!!!”
With that message, Mochen introduced the artists helping shape the project, giving followers a glimpse into the creative circle behind the release. The announcement carried the feeling of an artist stepping into a bigger chapter while proudly bringing his peers along with him.
The official 14 track lineup opens with Welcome To The North Side (Intro) and closes with Legendary Status (Outro), hinting at a full circle experience that moves with purpose from beginning to end.
Among the standout collaborations are appearances from Thato Saul on Northside Courtside, Saint Cielo on both Flava and Celebration and Pabi Cooper joining the celebratory anthem alongside Saint Cielo. Other featured artists include K.Keed, DJ Sliqe, Wordz, The Big Hash, Loatinover Pounds, Focalistic, 25K and MashBeatz creating a strong balance between established voices and newer forces shaping South African hip hop.
Tracks like Pitori vs Pitori and Black Market already hint at themes connected to identity, hunger and street rooted storytelling, while titles such as Pure Energy and Ke Bo Mang suggest a project that moves between introspection and confidence. The diversity in collaborations also points toward an album willing to explore different sounds without losing its core identity.
Mochen has steadily built a name for himself as one of the emerging voices within the country’s rap space, recognised for blending sharp lyricism with grounded storytelling. With North Vol 1: The Prophecy, he appears focused on strengthening that reputation while expanding his reach through carefully chosen collaborations and a clear artistic direction.
The album was engineered by Feziekk, with additional contributions from N.Jabulo and Khalee G on harmonies and backing vocals, adding further depth to the overall presentation of the project.
As anticipation continues to build online, North Vol 1: The Prophecy is shaping up to be a release that places Mochen firmly in the centre of conversation. From the meaning behind the title to the carefully assembled features, the rapper is presenting a project rooted in connection, ambition and a vision that stretches far beyond a single release.
