South African rapper K.Keed recently opened up about how she secured a feature from A-Reece on her song “Dilemma,” which appears on her debut album Bite The Bullet. Speaking during a recent interview on YFM’s The Agenda, the rapper reflected on the process behind one of the album’s standout collaborations.
K.Keed explained that the song was initially completed without A-Reece’s contribution and that his verse was added later in the process. According to her, he became the final featured artist to join the project before its release.
“So I recorded the song. It was finished without an extra verse from the boy. He was the last feature to get on Bite The Bullet,” she said during the interview.
The rapper shared that although the track was complete, she still felt there was an element missing. That feeling ultimately pushed her to reach out to A-Reece in hopes of elevating the record further.
“It just felt like something was missing and I just wanted to go big or go home, just shooting my shot and seeing what’s the worst that could happen,” she explained.
K.Keed also revealed that the move did not come completely out of nowhere, as she already knew that A-Reece was familiar with her music before she approached him for the collaboration.
“Reece was already messing with me, so I was like maybe it might be the time,” she added.
Her comments highlighted how she recognised an opportunity and decided to take the chance by contacting one of South African hip hop’s most respected lyricists. The collaboration eventually became one of the notable moments on Bite The Bullet, which was officially released in February 2025.
The album marked an important milestone in K.Keed’s career as it served as her debut full-length project and introduced listeners to a wider range of collaborations and sounds. Since its release, the project has continued to draw attention within the local hip hop space.
Months after “Dilemma,” K.Keed and A-Reece reunited musically when she appeared on his EP Business As Usual. The project was released in September 2025 and featured K.Keed alongside artists including Jay Jody.
Their continued collaborations have further strengthened the connection between the two artists, following the success and reception of “Dilemma” on Bite The Bullet.
