Mondli Thusi attacked by pitbulls

Mondli Thusi, best known for his role as Isaac on Generations: The Legacy, is reportedly fighting for his life after a violent attack involving two pitbulls outside his home in Boksburg, Gauteng.

The incident is said to have taken place on 4 May within a residential complex, where Thusi was allegedly attacked by the dogs as he was outside his residence.

MDN News reveals that he was rushed to Tambo Memorial Hospital in Boksburg, where he remains under medical care while recovering from severe injuries.

According to sources close to the situation, the actor’s condition is still serious, though he is reportedly stable.

One source said, “Things are not okay for him; he is still fighting for his life, even though he is stable.”

As concern grows over the circumstances of the attack, questions have also been raised about accountability, with conflicting claims emerging around the ownership of the dogs involved.

One source alleged that the dog owner is disputing responsibility, insisting that only one of the pitbulls belongs to him, while the other was reportedly taken away by the SPCA.

This claim has sparked further confusion among those following the case.

“The issue with his case is that the owner of the two pitbulls is trying to be clever and denies owning both dogs. He is now claiming that he only owns one pitbull and that the other was taken by the SPCA,” the source said, adding that concerns remain about whether the animals were properly secured.

Legal representatives are also said to be involved, with reports of correspondence between Thusi’s lawyers and the dog owner as the matter escalates.

Meanwhile, the actor’s ability to work has been severely affected as he focuses on recovery.

Speaking briefly about the ordeal, Thusi himself confirmed the incident and his ongoing recovery.

“I’m still in so much pain, but I’m getting better by the day. I cannot share many details since the matter is being handled by my lawyers, but I can confirm that the incident did happen,” he said in a voicenote.

Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza confirmed that an investigation is underway.

“I can confirm that we are investigating a case of keeping a ferocious dog, following an incident where a man was attacked and bitten by dogs.”
