South African singer and songwriter Shekhinah has officially released her first-ever EP, Love on Repeat, Vol. 1, marking a new chapter in her music career. The six-track project arrives after weeks of anticipation and showcases a blend of collaborations with some of the country’s notable artists and producers.
Leading the EP is “Say You Love Me,” a collaboration with Brandon Dhludhlu that was released ahead of the full project. The song serves as the opening track and sets the tone for the body of work. Brandon Dhludhlu features prominently throughout the EP, appearing on four of the six tracks, including the introductory song.
In addition to Dhludhlu’s contributions, Love on Repeat, Vol. 1 also features guest appearances from Fatso 98 and Simmy. The collaborations bring together a range of musical influences while maintaining a cohesive sound across the project.
The release has already received notable recognition, with Shekhinah securing the cover spot on Spotify’s New Music Friday South Africa playlist following the EP’s arrival. The playlist is one of the platform’s key destinations for newly released music and highlights some of the latest local and international releases available to listeners.
Celebrating the milestone, Shekhinah shared a message of gratitude on social media, thanking Spotify Africa for featuring her as the playlist’s cover artist. She also acknowledged the team and collaborators who contributed to the creation of the project.
Among those she thanked were producers Motive Soul Worldwide and 2Kay Musiq, who worked closely on the EP, as well as Brandon Dhludhlu, whom she credited for his involvement throughout the recording process. She also expressed appreciation to Simmy and Fatso 98 for their contributions to the project.
Shekhinah further recognized Lutchi Studios for handling the recording, mixing, and mastering process, while also thanking Master A Flat for his role in helping shape the sound of the EP. Additional acknowledgements were extended to members of her creative and support team, including photographer Aart V, makeup artist Nikki Pitso, TuneCore Africa, Elizabeth Donnell, and others who played a role in bringing the project to life.
