Some Manchester United’s players took their time to relax and have fun on Wednesday afternoon.

The English side football club players, have been in St Andrews, the home of the world golfing body, R&A, Scotland earlier for the second part of their two training camping, ahead of the new season.

It would be rude, then, not to take advantage of the opportunity for some leisure, while away and that is just what five Reds did.

The seaside town, located on the country’s east coast known as Gullane, is renowned across the world for being ‘the home of golf’ boasting several world-class courses, including ‘the Old Course’, which has hosted the Open Championship on 29 times.

Harry Maguire Captain of the football team shared a picture on social media of himself and fellow defender Phil Jones, plus midfielders Juan Mata, Daniel James and Scott McTominay after their round of golf. With the caption “great day golfing with the lads”.

They were also  joined by assistant manager Michael Carrick, as well as several members of the coaching staff.

Maguire also let it be known who had emerged as United’s 2021 pre-season golfing champions – with his Instagram Stories post seeming to suggest he and Carrick were the top dogs! In the round. Although not certain.

Of course, golf’s not for everyone and several of his team-mates, including the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial, opted to play tennis instead, while others took time to relax.
