Kamo Mphela is announced as one of the 2023 #YouTubeBlack Voices artists.
According to YouTube, the initiative is created to help grow black creatives on the streaming platform, and aid them to achieve sustainable success.
Forty creators have been selected to form a part of the 135 #YouTubeBlack Voices creators selected globally.
Alex Okosi, managing director: emerging markets, YouTube EMEA, said: “We are excited about the creators, musical artists, and producers from Africa joining others from across the world in the 2023 #YouTubeBlack Voices fund.
“The initiative is dedicated to equipping up-and-coming black creators and artists with the resources to succeed on our platform.”
The South African star is humbled and excited for being selected.
“So excited and proud to be part of @youtubemusic’s YouTube Black Voices Music Class of 2023!!!!! S/o to my fans for the nonstop support and to @youtube for being the dope progressive platform you are,” she wrote.
