President Muhammadu Buhari has scheduled security meeting with his security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.

The President returned to Abuja last Friday after 18 days in London, during which he attended an education summit and did health checks.

The security forces have in the past few weeks taken the battle more robustly to insurgents, bandits, and all other criminals troubling the country, and they are now surrendering in droves.

A statement by Femi Adesina, Buhari’s media aide noted that the President will be brought up to speed on developments at the Thursday meeting, while plans to bring a decisive end to the challenges will be formulated.

Recalled that over 20 travellers from Bauchi heading to Ondo state through Jos were killed by suspected bandits, a development that elicited strong reactions from cross sections of Nigerians.

While the Presidency described the killings as unacceptable and a henious crime, the Nigeria Labour Congress said it signified the height of insecurity in the country to which the government must show its commitment by fishing out the perpetrators.
