A memorial service for the Boksburg gas tanker explosion victims will be held by provincial government at the Boksburg Civic Centre from 10am on Friday.

27 people died after a truck transporting LP Gas belonging to Infinity Gas got stuck under the railway bridge close to the OR Tambo Memorial Hospital.
As the truck went under the bridge, the tops of the gas lids were shaved off the truck, which started a fire and set off two explosions.
Many others are fighting for their lives in hospital, and two people are still missing.

The memorial event will eb held to pay tribute to the victims.
“The memorial is held to reflect on what happened and also honour the lives that were lost, and pray for all those still in hospital,” Gauteng health communications head Motaletale Modiba said.
