The present state of Nigeria’s economy is arguably a sorry situation that could be conjectured to have pushed many into unthinkable and inhuman activities, crimes and criminalities presently rocking the peace and unity of the nation.
Nigeria of today has beaten all negative indices of development, hence the “poverty capital of the world” and at the forefront of terrorism – second to Iran in the third position of the 2020 global terrorism index – a land where citizens hope is hopelessness!
But in all of these said and weighed, would it be innocuous justification for any right-thinking human being, created by God to delve into crime and criminalities as “ritual” killing which Soliu Majekidunmi perfected on the social media – Facebook!?
Majekodunmi, 18, from Abeokuta in Ogun State conspired with three other friends to kill his girlfriend, Sofiyah, for suspected money ritual purpose ; he revealed that he learnt the practice through Facebook in his confession.
Narrating his nefarious activities while being paraded by security operatives before newsmen on Monday, January 31, Majekodunmi said that he typed “how to make money ritual” on Facebook and got the details, adding that the link instructed him to behead and burn a female skull in a local pot.
Majekodunmi revealed further that he conspired with his friend, Mustakeem Balogun and two others to lure Sofiyah to their apartment in the Oke Aregba area of Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, where she was killed.
The conspirators revealed also that they purchased three pigeon eggs known as ‘Eyin Aparo’ in Yoruba language and other fetish ingredients which they added in the local pot.
Majekodunmi conspirator friends however, admitted to killing the innocent girlfriend, claiming that they decidedd on money ritual because they wanted to ride exotic cars and live in luxury apartments.
Now Sofiyah is dead and gone to be seen no more; how much has Majekodunmi realised to buy his dreamed “exotic cars and luxurious apartments before he was caught up by the law of retributive justice!?
Majekodunmi is now a ‘murderer’ and will surely face the consequences, the full weight of the law before God and man; otherwise, when you offend the ‘gods’ the world will be too small a place to hide; hard work is the only sure way to success! Be warned!!
