
No fewer than 450 Nigerians said to be the first batch of returnee who were stranded in Ukraine arrived the country today Friday morning.
They returnees were those who fled to Romania; they arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport Abuja at past 7:00 a.m, reports said..
The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri, confirmed this in a tweet.
She said , “First batch of Nigerians from #Ukraine arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja from Romania at 7:10 am.”
Meanwhile, it was also said that the Federal Government (FG) will give the returnees $100 each as stipend to take them to their various destinations.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama over 2,000 Nigerians have fled Ukraine amid the Russian invasion to neigbouring countries.
