Kaizer Chiefs recruitment drive for next season is on a roll and their first target has been hooked, according to a report.

Mduduzi Mdantsane of Cape Town City is said to be the second player Amakhosi will get at the end of the season.

This comes after Chiefs and Cape Town City finally reached an agreement for the sale of the 29-year-old midfielder.

Amakhosi had initially wanted Mdantsane to join them in January but could not agree on a transfer fee with City. That then led to the collapse of the deal. But Chiefs remained persistent and City have, according to SABC Sport, folded and accepted the offer from Chiefs.

“I have not heard anything about that one yet. But like I told you last week, the wheels are turning and they want to have all their players confirmed before they go on the break,” said a source.

“They will all get specific programmes to follow during the off-season break.”

Last week Mgosi Squad reported that Chiefs’ scouts were working around the clock to get the players Zwane had profiled.

A source said Zwane wants to start next season’s training early and with all the players that he needs. He said the Chiefs coach’s plans were distracted as he started this season with an incomplete team with some players joining along the way.
