Kaizer Chiefs talisman Keagan Dolly has dedicated his celebration after scoring last weekend to his daughter.

Dolly says her daughter was unwell on the day and could not come to watch him at FNB Stadium when Chiefs beat Stellenbosch 2-1.

The 30-year-old Chiefs playmaker scored the second goal with a deflected shot in the first half.

It was his first goal in a while and he says it has given him his confidence back and the hopes for more.

“I saw a chance to shoot and luckily it took a little deflection and I saw the ball rolling in,” says Dolly.

“But eh, people always say you create your own luck… And I have always believed that if I tried to shoot, and at least hit the target it might go in.

“And today it went in,” added the well-travelled Dolly. Talking about the celebration, Dolly says it is something he always does with his daughter.

“The celebration is a thing I do with my daughter where we go (pointing at something) and we touch our eyes.

“It is always something for her because I know she is at home watching. She was a little sick, so scoring is one way to make her feel better.

“Hopefully one day she will look back and watch these things. I am doing them for my family – for her and my other kid.”

Dolly will hope to add onto his goals on Saturday evening when Chiefs meet Marumo Gallants in a league game at FNB Stadium. Kick off is 8pm.

Dolly still eyeing Bafana return

Dolly has also recently spoken about his wish to don Bafana Bafana colours yet again.

He says now that Bafana have qualified for the Caf Africa Cup of Nations, he would like to be there in January next year.

“I have always wanted to represent my country and I still want to do that,” Dolly said last week.

“It has always been my ambition to help the country qualify for major tournaments…

“We are happy that the boys have qualified and we are going to Afcon, but we don’t know what is going to happen next when it comes to selection.

“Whoever makes it to the tournament, they have to make sure we go there and make the country proud.”
