Following criticism on social media regarding his appearance, Sbusiso Leope, better known as DJ Sbu, revealed why he hugs trees, walked barefoo, and didn’t shave his hair.
The musician, entrepreneur, and radio personality is now sporting dreadlocks and a craggy beard.
His appearance has left fans unimpressed saying he looked “shabby”.
In a video posted on social media, the Mo Faya founder responded to the backlash saying that he was on a spiritual journey.
However, he did mention that there will come a time when he will shave his hair – adding that he was not yet ready.
“I think that I feel very comfortable the way I look, actually I think that I look great. And I think that I’m in my natural habitat when I look like this, when I don’t shave,” said Leope.

He added that the had learned a lot from growing his hair.
“There is a lot of knowledge I have beenattaining in terms of self-development knowledge. The knowledge that grows me and makes me a better person,” said Leope.
On his liking of hugging trees, Leope said it was connected to self-development and growth.
In 2022, a picture got many talking with a lot of people questioning his choice of clothing.
The said that Leope looked “dirty” and is “not taking care of himself”.
