Orlando Pirates might have missed plenty of goal-scoring opportunities in their last few games, but head coach Jose Riveiro understand when things don’t go their way upfront.

The Buccaneers haven’t been lethal enough in front of goals, but they have managed to get positive results.

In their last game against Cape Town City in a DStv Premiership tie, Riveiro’s Bucs had 19 shots at goals and seven of them were on target. But, they were only able to win the match 2-1 at the Orlando Stadium.

“Frustration is not the word (when Bucs don’t bury most of their opportunities). I am not coming to the games thinking that we are going to win 5-0 and if we are not 5-0 up at halftime I get frustrated. I know how difficult it is (to create and score goals). We played a good game against SuperSport United, but we only scored one penalty after 70 minutes,” said the Spaniard.

“It is a complicated game and you have to control a lot of things to get a result. But I’m not frustrated because I know how much it takes. We have to work a lot to create one chance and to make sure that chanceis not going to result in a transition immediately after we have it.”

The Buccaneers had to fight their way back into the game against City, who scored first. But Riveiro believes his side deserved to win. The victory saw Bucs record their fifth straight win in the league as they chase a second place finish.
