The battle between the royal families battling to produce the candidate for the vacant Olufon stool has taken a dramatic turn as one of the families has fingered the respected Osun billionaire, Adedeji Adeleke scheming underneath to impose a candidate on the kingmakers.

A member of one of the many families battling to occupy the throne who sought for anonymity told newsmen in Lagos that an alleged former PDP Chairman in Ifon-Osun was lobbying Dr. Deji Adeleke, father to the Afrobeat star, David Adeleke, popularly known as “Davido” to use his influence to impose a candidate on the kingmakers.

This candidate being pushed forward according to an investigation is also the son of a late PDP Chieftain in the town but is not popular among the candidates that are being considered for selection by the kingmakers.

It will be recalled that the Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo has earlier on Tuesday declined a prayer from some of the families which sought to stop the Osun State Government from installing a successor to fill the vacant throne of the Olufon of Ifon.

Meanwhile, further hearing into the matter has been adjourned to October 12, 2023.
