Rubies International College Ibadan has emerged winners of the 2022 Oyo State Sports Quiz Competition organised by popular Sports OAP in Ibadan.
Royal Diadem School and Madibo Islamic School ended runners-up and second runners-up respectively in the second Sports Quiz Competition held for both public and private secondary school across the State over the weekend at Dapo Aderogba Hall, NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
Other schools that participated includes: Adelagun Memorial Grammar School, Unique Legacy College, Light of Faith Islamic School, Madibo Islamic School, Peace-land International School, and Glorious College, while popular hip-hop artistes Khalifah GMI, light-up the event with incredible music performances
The organizer, Imolesport in his speech appreciated all the participating schools, the organising committee, the sponsors, the awardees, the invited guests, NUJ and well-wishers who had contributed in the success of the programme.
Ambassador Romoke Rahmat Ayinde, the C.E.O of Kayromlee Gym and Fitness Centre who was mother of the day in her remarks was excited by the performances of the kids, while urging sports lovers, stakeholders in sports and every Nigerian to invest more in Sports.
The multi-lingual described sports as an important tool to kill boredom and negativity in our society. She however, presented gifts and souvenirs for all the participating schools, imploring the games masters and sport’s teachers to do more in encouraging pulpils to adopt a particular sport at their early stage.
Other big personalities that attended the events are the Chairman of the Oyo State Chapter of the NUJ, Ademola Babalola, the General Manager of Pensioners FM 106.7, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu, top Yoruba Sports presenter, Alhaji Babatunde Saheed popularly known as Mr. Sports, Oyetayo Oladimeji, Kenny Ogunmiloro, Gbolahan Olalere, Ajibola Agboola, Hon Prince Jubril Abimbola Arowolo, and Abiala Dahunsi Kaka.
