President Cyril Ramaphosa has invited more Chinese companies to attend South Africa’s investment conferences. He addressed international investors in Beijing, China this morning. Ramaphosa is in China, where he is expected to attend the Forum for China-Africa Co-operation (FOCAC) Summit.

In the past few days, he has been engaging Chinese companies to encourage them to invest in South Africa.

Ramaphosa says, “I would like to invite more Chinese companies to attend our investment conferences, where they can come and talk about the designers and their wishes to invest in the South African markets and interact and engage with other South African businesses that are continuing to invest in our economy.

He also says the country is seeking investment in the energy sector.

“We are on a path to revolutionise our energy sector in pursuit of low-carbon, climate-resilient development. We are actively seeking investment in the energy sector with a particular focus on renewables and green hydrogen. China has a proven track record in developing innovative renewable energy solutions. Together, we can create sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solutions that benefit both our countries. By working together, we can create value chains that are mutually beneficial, leading to job creation and economic growth,” he adds.
