Skeem Saam actor Mahlatsi Moropo is having a great year, so far. He’s celebrated wins in his life and career.

Last month, Mahlatsi was awarded the Viewer’s Choice Best Actor award at the Royalty Soapie Awards, and this month, he’s bought himself a new car.

The 20-year-old from Limpopo shared with the publication about the good things happening to him. He said he has never owned a car before.

“This is my first car. Fun fact, I’ve given her a name already. I call her Snowy. It still feels unreal. I got my new baby a few days back and still feel excited when I get inside,” Mahlatsi said.

He said owning his set of wheels has always been a dream.

“I wanted to own a car for comfort and convenience. It was on my bucket list for this year and marking it has made me so happy.”

Mahlatsi said the two past months have been the happiest time of his life.

“I feel blessed and highly favoured. Winning the Royalty Soapie Award is a surreal experience, and I’m still pinching myself to see if it’s real. It’s an incredible honour to be recognized by the industry and peers this way,” he said.

He said what comes to mind when he does great is a sense of pride and accomplishment.

“I also feel a sense of gratitude for the opportunities I’ve had and the people who supported me along the way. It’s a reminder that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be, doing what I love. It gives me a confidence boost and motivates me to keep pushing boundaries and striving for even greater heights.”

Mahlatsi said he wishes his success to inspire and impact others.

“It’s a privilege to be in a position where I can make a positive difference in the lives of others.”

He said five years ago, he never saw himself where he is.

“I was still in the process of learning and growing, and didn’t have a clear picture of where I’d be today. While I had aspirations and goals, I wasn’t sure how they’d unfold. Looking back, I’m amazed how far I’ve come and how much I’ve accomplished,” he said.

He is grateful for the love and support from his fans.

“Your love and support mean everything. Your kind words and messages of encouragement have made a significant impact. You’re the driving force behind the success. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration and motivation. Your support is a gift, and it’s appreciated more than words can express,” he said.

He shared some of his plans.

“I’m continuing to grow and improve my skills, exploring new creative outlets and focusing on giving back.”
