Tension and anxiety are allegedly brewing among Uzalo actors due to ongoing contract negotiations.
Cast members are in the dark about their future in the telenovela.
Sources told the publication that two actors were booted after negotiations. The first revealed that Nompilo Maphumulo, who plays Nosipho Xulu, and Menzi Biyela, who plays her fiance Pastor Sambulo Gwala, were shown the door.
The situation is tense as some actors don’t know whether their contracts will be renewed or not, but Nosipho and Pastor Gwala are leaving. They were told their contracts will not be renewed,” said the source.
This after Omuhle Gela, who played Nomaswazi Magwaza, left due to a disagreement over her contract.
Another mole said remaining actors were living in fear.
“Nompilo is talented. She has been with Uzalo since season one and delivered the best.
When colleagues heard she was leaving, everyone was shocked. Menzi is experienced and talented. His contract not being renewed was scary for others.”
Menzi referred the SunTeam to production company, Stained Glass for comment.
Publicist Nomfundo Zondi said: “We will communicate with our viewers and the public about changes to their favourite show when the time is right.”
