South African actress Enhle Mlotshwa is excited about her role in the Blood Psalms on Showmax! She told the publication that she’s thrilled that the show covers stories that Africans faced over the past years, and had to fight for want was theirs.
She said playing her role in the show was a dream come true.
Enhle said she always wanted to play a challenging role that would allow her to learn more about her acting skills. Blood Psalms, an epic, action-packed African fantasy series, follows the beliefs and practices of black communities.
The 34-year-old actress will be playing the role of Umna, which is a warrior woman.
Enhle from Soweto said this was the most challenging role ever, as she had to be a warrior who goes all out.
“Umna is a warrior woman draped in the pretext of what then was considered to be a circus and entertainers. But she serves a bigger goal for the order of the Golden Dawn,” Enhle said.
“This was the most challenging but also one the most enjoyable show to shoot. Every day on set felt like I was in this new world recreating a narrative all people of colour. The production, as well as the quality is world class, and will delight viewers.
The actress said she learnt a lot while on set. She said she saw lots of great potential actors and actresses who can execute a lot a characters and all they need is free tips from those who have been on the entertainment industry for a long time.
“There is potential to nurture any more actors in the country but also, room for more African talent overseas. I’m definitely considering my options internationally,” Enhle added.
“As an actress, I want to put more hard work and living grounded in my purpose. I pray every day that if only God can grant me my wishes and for that reason I would like to keep silent work and let Him work through me.”
