
Alhaji Nasiru Magaji, who has just been elected Councillor to represent his ward has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Wednesday in Katsina State.
Alhaji Magaji, who triumphed in the recently concluded April 11 Local Government elections in the state was to represent Gozaki ward in Kafur Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State.
New Telegraph reported that the hoodlums invaded the residence of the deceased around 12:30 a.m. during which they shot the victim, who was also popularly called ‘Nasiru B.S’.
Alhaji Magaji was rushed to the General Hospital in Malumfashi where he was pronounced dead around 3:00 a.m.
It was also reliably gathered that the assailants, numbering about 10, initially abducted two wives of the deceased councillor but later released them.
It would be recalled that Katsina which is the home state of President Mohammadu Buhari has been one of the volatile states in terrorists activities recently in the North West of the country.
