Supamega is back in the building and is ready to chart these streets like there is no tomorrow with his latest release titled ‘Lemons (Lemonade)’ featuring the one and only, ‘Nasty C’. The single honestly prepares us for the summer as it serves as a lead single to AKA’s forthcoming album titled, ‘Mass Country’ and I cannot wait to hear how the rest of the project sounds.
Now one would probably think this is a pure ‘Hip-Hop’ jam just as I did based on reading who it features and the lime green art cover but based on the launch I attended for the visuals it was one hack of a summer jam that got everyone dancing from start to finish as it enlightens the mood. I honestly never imagined ‘Nasty C’ on a log drum and guess what he murdered it. AKA is one artist whose voice can adapt to any beat or genre as he has a style that can be diversified in numerous ways possible. This single serves as AKA’s first solo single this year since his song with Costa Titch ‘Super Soft’ in March.
He has been consistent with collaborations as we saw him work with the likes of ‘Benny Chill’ during the course of the year and ‘LucasRaps’. This current release sets the tone in a way on what we can expect in the forthcoming release and I am honestly excited and happy for AKA as he does what he loves with a passionate heart and this is seen in the new visuals for the single.
I love how they had an opening that took us back to the times of ‘Jam Alley’ and ‘JikaMaJika’ as they got Nadia Nakai and Robot Boii to do the opening for the video. I also loved the music video set from the red spotlight scene to the part where Nasty C comes in. A round of applause is what I giving to the production team. I am grateful that I was at the launch as I got to see the impact with my very own eyes and all I can say is that Summer Season is not ready.
