Akpan, Modungwu Shine In Queen Mowah’s Inaugural Golf Tourney

Pat Akpan has emerged winner with the scores of 108 gross over 80net to beat others in the ladies category of Lady Captain Inaugural Tournament held over the weekend to usher in Queen Mowah as the new Lady Captain of Ibori Golf and Country Club (IGCC).

In the same vein, Austin Modungwu with scores of 86 gross over 74net on count back came out tops in the men’s category.

Other winners in the Ladies Category with handicap 28 to 36 where Akpan emerged top are Chika Okorodudu that returned as runners-up with 117 gross over 84net, while Sala Oise with 114 gross over 86net ended as second runners-up as Nkechi Tolani with 129 gross over 93net and N.J. Nwanekezie with133 gross over 100net recorded fourth and fifth place respectively.

Chuks Nwani with the scores of 95 gross over 74net ended as runners-up in the men’s category while Emmanuel Umoru with scores of 104 gross over 79net returned as second runners-up. Gibson Lee won the Longest Drive Men category while Amina Wilfred won Ladies’ Longest Drive, as Christy Chizea picked up the prize for nearest to pin ladies.

Tom Nwakalo-Imu emerged winner in veterans’ category with scores of 98 gross over 75net while Afam Obanor that returned with 102 gross over 83net on count back ended as runners-up, with Jimmy Odogwu with 103 gross over 83net placed third.

Queen Mowah in her remarks thanked all golfers, friends and well-wishers that travelled from far and near to attend the event and all and sundry that had contributed to the successful hosting of the tournament, while assuring all members of IGCC ladies’ section of a transparent administration style and turnaround of the section.
