2. Hair health

The yeast in the beer helps strengthen hair and enhance the natural shine. The protein level in the beer helps the scalp to maintain the pH levels reducing dandruff and stimulating hair growth.

3. Body detox

The ingredients in the beer help to draw out the toxins and it helps in deep cleansing of the skin as it opens pores and can help in exfoliation of skin. Warm beer baths also help in blood circulation and reduce muscle tension. It also improves joint flexibility and eases discomfort associated with arthritis.

While the benefits of a beer spa are plenty for skin and hair, the effectiveness of it may vary.

The drawbacks of beer bath

Beer has components of yeast, hops, and barley, and people who are allergic to these might develop skin irritation. Though beer bath helps rejuvenate the skin, the smell – the strong odor of the beer stays for a long time which might be unpleasant.

Beer baths rarely cause intoxication, but there’s a possibility that people who are sensitive to alcohol will be affected.

Beer spa or beer baths should not be taken too often or too long as it can cause yeast infection and it also requires more extensive cleaning after the bath. The other important drawback of beer baths is that it is not eco-friendly as a large quantity is used in spas and it becomes an issue when the beer is not disposed of properly.
