Asaiowé takes us on love journey with her new 7 Track EP titled, ‘Letters To Soulmates’. This masterpiece is flawless and I will tell you why. I love how the intro set the mood of the project. I found myself in my Blues so early in the day. From the instrumental play to her soothing voice I was moved. The mixing and mastering is on another level to a point where the listening experience becomes one of a Live Performance.
The project spoke to me on a deeper level as her version of Love and Heartbreak is very much relatable as she pours out her heart in each song. My favourite single is ‘Losing’ as it spoke on an individual that left the relationship but is trying to find their way back into her heart and this leads to mixed feelings as this certain individual doesn’t seem to know what they want. She then stands for what she believes for because if she takes him back she could be losing more than just her time but then herself in the process. She practically invested so much of herself into this certain individual but then they just not serious.
It’s crazy because I have been in a situation where I invested too much of my heart into this one individual and unfortunately the efforts were not reciprocated. This led to a huge heartache as I had to make the toughest decision ever of which was to depart from that relationship. It hurt for a moment as I felt like I lost an essential part of me but I guess it comes with knowing yourself and setting your standards.
My other favourite single is ‘Crossroads’ as it further breaks down on how two parties can lose interest in one another as one is wasting time and this leads to a huge stall in the relationship as one feels that they have outgrown that relationship. This does happen as at times we feel like we have found the one without realising that the individual is only there to serve a certain purpose in your life. Not all relationships are forever even life itself is not an infinity thing as we will at some point have to depart from life in general or our current ways of living.
I honestly love the whole project as each song complements the next and tells a continuous story till the end. Her pen game has to be the best as her word play is rare. She is indeed a gem to look out for and I know without a doubt that she is going places. This may be the beginning but best believe it’s higher and higher for her. I would like to personally say thanks to every individual involved in the making of the project. From the producers to the Engineer that’s in charge of the final mix and most importantly the artist herself, Asaiowé for this artistic piece. It honestly spoke to me and allowed me to feel and be in tune with my emotions and I will forever be grateful for that. Thank you for also allowing all of us on your journey and sharing your feelings and story with us.
