Babes Wodumo turns 31
Gqom star Babes Wodumo marks her 31st birthday on Tuesday, March 25, with a heartfelt and emotional reflection.
The South African singer took to Instagram to share a bittersweet message, revealing that her special day had been overshadowed by a traumatic incident involving her best friend, @hlengzababe Hleh (Maka Sbonga), who was mugged and left severely injured.
In her post, Babes Wodumo expressed the deep sorrow she felt seeing her friend in such a state, admitting that the distress left her heartbroken.
The attack was so unsettling that she had to cancel her scheduled performance at Views. However, amidst the pain, she remained grateful that her friend’s life was spared.
“First I just want to say this has been a very emotional birthday for me. Izolo my best friend @hlengzababe Hleh (Maka Sbonga) was mugged and almost lost her life… I saw life without her and inhliziyo yami was broken, and I didn’t even get to perform yesterday at Views due to what happened. But sibonga impilo,” she wrote.
Babes Wodumo also extended her gratitude to those who supported her during this emotional time, particularly @sne_neneza_mthembu Nenezana Mthembu, for being by her side as she spent the day indoors with her injured friend and her team.
Despite the unfortunate circumstances, she still took a moment to celebrate her life, wishing herself a blessed birthday and appreciating the well-wishes from her fans.
She also invited her supporters to a birthday celebration scheduled for Saturday, March 29, at Mnqobis View.
