Somizi vexed at Sweet Guluva’s fans

Somizi Mhlongo has had enough of Big Brother Mzansi fans flooding his social media with campaign messages for finalist Sweet Guluva.

The media personality recently took to TikTok to voice his frustration, urging them to stop using his comment section to push their agenda.

Sweet Guluva, real name Akhonamathemba Mbele, has become a fan favorite in the reality show’s fifth season.

With the grand finale fast approaching, his supporters have been relentless in their efforts to secure him votes—going as far as spamming Somizi’s posts with the message: Vote Sweet Guluva.

Expressing his irritation, Somizi made it clear that he’s not interested in the show and finds the constant mentions disruptive.

“Some of us don’t watch Big Brother. We only know his name because you annoy us in the comment section,” he said.

He further warned that their tactics might be doing more harm than good.

“You are ruining his chances because you’re annoying us. You’re messing up his chances to win. We can’t deal with you forcing us to vote for Sweet Guluva whenever we post. He’ll end up not winning because of you. We’ve had enough. Stop it.”

While some social media users sympathized with him, others criticized his reaction, accusing him of being condescending due to his celebrity status.

Somizi, however, did not hold back in his response, shutting down the accusations and insisting he won’t tolerate being bullied online.

“Go take a dive, go take a hike, go check where the sun doesn’t shine. You’re silly; you’re used to bullying celebrities,” he fired back.

“If that makes me arrogant, f*** this is my page. I won’t allow people to bully me. You want to be begged? The next thing you’ll be saying is I’ll need your votes in awards; trust me, I would never. One thing for sure, I stand my ground, and anyone who knows me knows that I’m not arrogant. I’m humble, but I don’t take bullshit and I don’t take bullying lightly. If you have a problem with me saying I don’t want Sweet Guluva on my page, go take a dive or go hang yourself.”

As the reality show nears its conclusion, only five contestants remain in the race for the R2 million prize—Sweet Guluva, Uyanda Nhlangabezo, Fortunate “Nate” Setwaba, Nsuku Mabunda, and Karabo “Jojo” Sejojo.
