The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday confirmed the appointment of coaches for the senior national football team.

However, the apex football administrative body retained Austin Eguavoen as the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles.

Eguavoen took the Super Eagles to the just-concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon where they crashed out after losing to Tunisia in the round of 16.

The NFF also brought in former Super Eagles star, Emmanuel Amueke into the coaching crew as the Chief Coach.

In the same vein, Salisu Yusuf, Joseph Yobo remained as the assistant coaches, while Alloy Agwu is the Goalkeeper Trainer.

However, the task before Eguavoen and the new coaching crew is to ensure Nigeria qualifies for the forthcoming 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Nigeria Super Eagles are drawn against the Ghana Black Stars in the final play off which comes up between March 23 and 29, 2022 with the first game coming up in Ghana.

Invariably, qualifying for the Qatar 2022 is a task that must be accomplished by the coaching crew as well as the NFF and the nation’s Sport Ministry providing a level playing ground for the team to qualify without hitches.

The qualification no doubt, will be the only way the local coaching crew can prove critics wrong that Nigeria does not need the services of foreign coaches anymore.
