Big Zulu survives car accident
Rapper Siyabonga Nene, popularly known as Big Zulu, is recovering in hospital after being involved in a car accident on Sunday night.
Nkabi Records, his record label, confirmed the news on Monday, sharing photos of his mangled BMW 325i (Gusheshe), which appears to be a complete write-off.
In a statement, Nkabi Records said, “It’s sad to announce that Big Zulu was involved in a car accident last night. Please keep him in your prayers. We will share his progress and updates on our WhatsApp channel.”
Although details about the crash remain scarce, the label assured fans that Big Zulu sustained only minor injuries and is receiving medical attention.
“We are relieved that he’s safe and on the road to recovery. As a beloved member of the Shuni Womhlaba family and an inspiration to many, we send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the statement continued.
This marks the second road accident involving someone from Nkabi Records within a short period.
Earlier this month, producer Xolani “Xowla” Shabalala (32) survived a car accident in Highlands North, Johannesburg.
Both Xowla and an unnamed DJ escaped with minor injuries, thanks to the vehicle’s airbags.
Fans are rallying behind Big Zulu with well-wishes, eagerly anticipating his return.
