The Black Coffee Foundation has successfully raised R3.1 million towards the establishment of the Black Coffee Music Academy, an initiative aimed at nurturing and empowering young musicians across South Africa.

The foundation hosted an exclusive black-tie gala dinner at LUXX Venue Sandhurst, Johannesburg, in celebration of Black Coffee’s birthday, bringing together a star-studded guest list and an exciting live auction that helped surpass fundraising expectations.

The event, which took place in March 2025, was attended by prominent figures in entertainment, politics, and business, including ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula, Major League DJz, Oskido, Anatii, Blxckie, Siyabonga Ngwekazi, former Miss South Africa Dr. Tamaryn Green, and media personality Somizi Mhlongo.

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was an exclusive live auction facilitated by Strauss & Co, featuring one-of-a-kind pieces. The auction exceeded the foundation’s fundraising goal, helping the academy take a significant step toward realization.
