Black Coffee’s foundation raises funds for Mthatha flood relief

Black Coffee has stepped up in a big way following the deadly floods that recently devastated parts of Mthatha in the Eastern Cape, leaving 88 people dead and many more displaced.

Through his organisation, The Black Coffee Foundation, the Grammy-winning DJ launched a donation drive to support affected families, and the response was overwhelming.

In a heartfelt message, the foundation confirmed that R500,000 had been raised thanks to a mix of individual donors and major sponsors, including Nando’s, Hollywoodbets, Unilever, and Sompire.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you,” the foundation shared.

“Your kindness helped us raise R500,000 for families affected by the floods in Mthatha. We couldn’t have done it without you.”

The initiative comes as rescue efforts continue in the region, where communities are still reeling from the storm’s impact.

DJ Black Coffee’s involvement has been widely praised, with many applauding him for using his platform to drive meaningful change.
