
Kehinde Adeyemi, a football psychologist has identified lack of mental strength on the path of Nigerian Super Eagles against the Ghanaians in a decisive World Cup qualifier match played at the MKO Abiola Stadium Abuja on Tuesday March 29, 2022.

The English Football Association trained Adeyemi, who doubles as the director of sports at Olabisi Onabanjo University Ogun State made this call while reacting to the disappointing outing of the Eagles in a must-win cracker.
He asserted that the better mental strength showed by Ghana was the job of a football psychologist that is always part of all Ghanaian national teams.
Adeyemi however chided the leadership of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for often undermining the role of Sports Psychology in preparation for any major national team’s assignments despite having such personnel at their disposal.
“From psychological point of view, I can notice a better mental strength from the Black Stars’ players which gave them an improved composure and right attitude to the game; such is the function of a football psychologist”, said the soccer expert.”
Adeyemi who works with Remo Stars FC also added that “we need to stop thinking that football is only a matter of the body (talent) and skillfulness will only grow if we understand better the mental (intelligent) part of developing a player.”
