Award-winning Hip-Hop duo Blaklez and PDOT O bring real Hip-Hop back with an incredible body of work titled ‘Lost Diamonds II’. The project houses 13 tracks featuring the likes of Jay Jody, Maggz, Chad Da Don, Hersch Snyders and many more talented artists in the game. Previously released visuals to the fan-favourited banger ‘Alive’, featuring Jay Jody had successfully made fans eager for the highly anticipated drop and the stars made sure to deliver nothing short of a masterpiece with this one!
‘Music is a spiritual thing’, expresses PDOT O in the artists’ short snippet for the album on their social media platforms. He further explains that ‘Lost Diamonds II’ is constructed with music that will land on ears that are meant to hear it. Furthermore, he emphasizes on the timelessness of music once people realize that it’s less about materialistic gains and more about music being a spiritual phenomenon.
The joint project is making serious waves in the Hip-Hop industry as it embodies powerful lyricism and flows that give listeners a cadenced reminder of classic Hip-Hop.
‘No Missing Pages’ featuring beautiful vocals by Ayanda Jiya is a personal favourite amongst many. The tune is ideally placed as an Intro song for the album, setting the tone for the rest of this well put together work of art. The overall feel of ‘Lost Diamond II’ is an embodiment of the late 90s and 2000s Hip-Hop music, including a few refreshing rhythmic and melodic sounds such as another favourite, ‘Esselen Street’ featuring N’Veigh and Bugzito. ‘Red Wine’ including the poetic AV is an interesting soulful piece with a distinctive sound making it a delightful listen from my perspective. ‘Lost Diamonds II’ is nothing short of a masterpiece. We are pleased to hear that real Hip-Hop is still alive through Blaklez and PDOT being a true representation of the cultural movement by bringing us high octane music that depicts self-knowledge and self-expression, which is what the popular genre is all about.
