Jack Obiyan a former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obaseki has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to return to the All Progressives Congress APC.
The Ubiaja born politician made his decision to dump the PDP known on his various social media handles attracting reactions from across the country.
Jack Obiyan was at the fore front of the campaign for reelection of Governor Obaseki under any umbrella and at any cost and is one of the aides who followed the Governor to the PDP.
His decision to dump the PDP at this point is unclear but the social media influencer said it was personal and without grudges to anyone.
Commentators have however said the decision may not be unconnected with the abysmal failure of the technocrat governor to deliver on the dividends of democracy.
Many projects embarked by the government like the Benin Abraka Road Project, Benin River Port Project, Benin Industrial Park Project, Textile Mill Road Project, Ekenwa Road Project amongst others have either failed, substandard or now a mirage.
The Governor have also failed to constitute a cabinet almost a year into office in his second tenure prefering to use importees from Lagos termed “Consultants”. This shows how unprepared the Governor is to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Edo State.
Just last month expectations of party supporters who were interested in running and lobbying for various positions under the Local Government Council were cut short when the governor announced that until he paid fully the debt of over N56 billion incurred by past Local Government administration there might be no election.
