

Drivers of the State owned Transport Company, Delta Line Koka Park Asaba have shut down operations in over lack of care for members of staff.
Some of the drivers who spoke said the insensitivity of the management ofer company got to a head after one of the drivers, Mr Ekene, who got married seven months ago was involved in an accident along the Benin Abuja Road about three weeks ago.
According to them, the driver had been abandoned by the management who have refused to attend to the plight of the driver who is said to have been in coma since the accident.
They revealed that despite overtures from Mr Ekene’s family the management refused to budge saying the driver was over-speeding when the accident occured close to Iyamho in Edo State on his way from Abuja with one passenger getting injured.
They also revealed that the company was yet to pay them their March salaries stressing that they were recently paid February salary on March 29. The drivers however called on the management to swiftly attend to the plight of their colleague as his condition was deteriorating as he needed to undergo surgery to remove the blood clot in his brain which according to the Doctors was urgent to save him; the drivers is said to have broken an arm and leg .
