Ahmed Idris Wase, the Deputy Speaker House of Representatives has condemned last Saturday’s attack on travellers along Rukuba road in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Wase, who spoke in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Muhammad Puma, expressed shock and sadness over the attack.
He said that the cause of the attack should be investigated and the perpetrators brought to book.
Wase, while sympathising with the family of the victims, the government and people of Plateau State, called on Plateau citizens to remain calm and law abiding.
He urged them to refrain from reprisal attacks, which might endanger the peace in the state.
Wase, representing Wase Federal Constituency at National Assembly, called on the people of the state to keep faith in the Governor Lalong led administration in it’s quest towards finding lasting solutions to the perennial crisis in the state.
He commended security agencies for their prompt response to the crisis, urging them to do all it would take to ensure that those involved in the dastardly act would be arrested.
He thanked Governor Lalong, for his proactiveness towards ensuring that the security agencies in the state swung into action to protect lives and properties and as well maintain the existing peace in the state.
Wase advised citizens of the state not to take laws into their hands but should report any security threat to the right authority, adding that they should be law abiding good people of plateau state.
