Black Is Brown’s new signees, Jayden Lanii and DJ Sickoo contribute to the ever-growing record label’s hitmaking status with a new single titled ‘Excellent’. The pair teamed up with Mr JazziQ and Sizwe Alakine to release the brand-new joint.
Jayden Lanii explains where he drew inspiration for the track by stating the following:
“I had a friend named Kabelo who we used to call Kabaza. We’d chill together and whenever we had conversations, he would always interject. So, we would tease him and say ‘Kabaza why uthanda uku fakaza’, which is a lyric on the song. I then added the lyrics “dedela bonela fakaza Kabaza cabanga walaza fakaza excellent.”
On the production of the song, DJ Sickoo explained that he made the beat for ‘Excellent’ on his birthday. “It was the first beat I created and it came out excellent because I was just in a really good mood”, he says.
In true Black Is Brown style, the song is accompanied by the ‘Excellent’ dance challenge which went viral on socials.
“We embody excellence in the song by producing the best quality and the best of our artistic qualities, and we wanted people to receive that from this single” expresses DJ Sickoo.
