Dr Nandipha remanded in custody after appearing in court for murder, other charges

The girlfriend of convicted Facebook rapist Thabo Bester, Dr Nandipha Magudumana, has been remanded in custody after making her first court appearance.

Magudumana appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Thursday afternoon. She has not been formally charged yet, but according to police, she will face charges of aiding and abetting an escape from prison, murder, violation of bodies and fraud.

Court dismisses Mkhwebane’s application to recuse Section 194 Inquiry chair, DA MP

The Western Cape High Court has dismissed with costs suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s application to have the chairperson of Parliament’s Section 194 Committee recused from chairing her impeachment hearing.

Mkhwebane had approached the high court to set aside committee chairperson Qubudile Dyantyi’s decision not to recuse himself from the inquiry as well as Democratic Alliance (DA) MP Kevin Mileham.

Dirco to démarche UAE ambassador over SA’s failed extradition of Gupta brothers

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) will reportedly issue a démarche to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambassador to South Africa following government’s failed extradition of the Gupta brothers.

A démarche is a formal diplomatic representation of a government’s official position, views, or wishes on a given subject to an appropriate official in another government.

Seven arrested for murder of retired journalist Jeremy Gordin

Seven suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of retired journalist, Jeremy Gordin.

He was killed during a robbery at his home in Parkview, Johannesburg, on 31 March and was found lying on the floor.

Ban all overseas-based South Africans from playing for the Springboks!
